A1 Works-in-progress Associates LLC is the legal entity behind Works-in-Progress Associates (WPA), a woman-owned Owner's Representative and construction-management firm founded in 1994 that, per its own site, works mostly with schools, hospitals, libraries, and other nonprofit and public clients in New York. Its city work has been with the Department of Design and Construction: a "Requirements Contract for CM Services Small Projects" worth $12 million (RFP-awarded, ended 2020), two later renewals of that requirements contract worth $3 million each that were not re-bid (together 30% of the $20 million in contract value awarded under its name since 2017), and two smaller multiple-award task orders, "Construction Management Services for MarcyHouse Community Ho" ($1.1 million) and "CM SVCS for Hamilton Ave Bldg Envelope Rehab" ($660,000). All contracts have expired; the city has paid the firm $3.2 million to date.
