The New York entity of CDM Smith, a privately (employee) owned engineering and construction firm headquartered in Boston and founded in 1947, working in water, environment, transportation, energy, and facilities, per the firm's own site. CDM Smith NY Inc holds five active NYC contracts since 2023 totaling $43 million, all won through competitive RFPs: three with the Department of Environmental Protection, a $13 million "Preliminary Design, DES & DSDC for the Dewatering Expansion" contract, a $10 million "EE-PEDS 24B" contract, and a $9.5 million program management and construction management support contract for the NYC Lead Service Line Replacement program (a program CDM Smith's own news release confirms DEP selected the firm to help manage), plus a $5.5 million Department of Design and Construction geotechnical engineering contract ("PW311S20A, Req. Contracts for Geotechnical Engineering") and a $4.7 million DEP "OB-EPF DES" contract. $9.4 million has been paid to date.
