Dexia Credit Local
City-funded organization
Dexia Credit Local is the main operating bank of the French Belgian Dexia Group, historically a major lender for European public sector and local government financing. Since the end of 2011 it has operated under an orderly resolution (run off) plan backed by French and Belgian state guarantees and no longer conducts new commercial business, per the company's own annual report. Its NYC relationship dates to that earlier public finance business: it holds one active $6.5 million contract as of August 2026 with the Office of the Comptroller for liquidity facility services tied to a 2002 general obligation bond series, part of $23.4 million awarded across 6 comptroller contracts for letter of credit and liquidity services on city bond issues since 1999.
