Griffins Landscaping Corp

City-funded organization

Griffin's Landscaping Corporation is a Peekskill, NY landscaping contractor whose owner, Glenn Griffin, pleaded guilty to federal conspiracy to commit bribery and wire fraud over a 2018 to 2020 scheme to illegally dump construction debris at a Town of Cortlandt facility and then bill the town to remove it, along with a related 2015 to 2018 bid-rigging scheme; he was sentenced on June 11, 2025 to two years in prison, a $50,000 fine, and (with a co-defendant) $2.4 million in restitution, per the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York. Despite the conviction, the NYC Parks Department opted to keep the company's roughly $25 million in tree-planting contracts, citing a limited pool of qualified vendors and continued city Department of Investigation oversight, a decision more than two dozen City Council members and Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson publicly opposed, according to the New York Post. On Checkbook NYC, the company holds $24,600,000 in active Parks Department contracts as of August 2026 (three tree-planting jobs in the Bronx and Queens, each awarded by competitive sealed bid) and has been awarded $77 million in city contracts since 2016 across 19
