Hudson River Park Trust is not a private vendor or charity but a New York State public benefit corporation created by the 1998 Hudson River Park Act to design, build, operate, and maintain the roughly four-mile Hudson River Park and estuarine sanctuary along Manhattan's west side, governed by a board appointed by the Governor, Mayor, and Manhattan Borough President. As a quasi-governmental entity it also holds about $101 million in active city contracts as of August 2026 (2 contracts) with the Department of Parks and Recreation, Department of Sanitation, and Fire Department, part of $232.5 million recorded since 2004.
