Man Up Inc. (branded on its own site as Man Up! Inc.), a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit based at 799 Van Siclen Avenue in Brooklyn, was founded in 2004 by Andre T. Mitchell after the fatal shooting of an 8 year old boy in East New York and runs violence prevention, youth, employment and family programs. On Checkbook NYC it holds $27.2 million in active New York City contracts as of August 2026 across three registered agreements, all with the Department of Youth and Community Development, the largest being the $20 million "CMS Violence Prevention Mentoring Program Renewal" contract, tagged as a renewal not re-bid.
