Research Triangle Institute, doing business as RTI International, is a nonprofit scientific research institute founded in 1958 and headquartered in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, per its own site. In New York City it has worked with the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene on the WTC Health Registry, helping design the registrant database, conduct outreach, and run interview surveys, and separately holds Fire Department contracts for WTC-related FDNY member retention and data-management support.
