Simpson Street Development Association (SISDA) is a Bronx nonprofit founded in 1964 that provides family support, education, employment, and referral services to children, adolescents, and families in the Hunts Point section of the South Bronx, including its Beacon after-school program and the Summer Youth Employment Program (sisda.org). It has been a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization since 1985 (ProPublica Nonprofit Explorer, EIN 13-3082529). All of its city funding comes from the Department of Youth and Community Development: $3.93 million in active contracts as of August 2026 and $24 million awarded since 2007 across 20 contracts, including expired ones, of which 75% of contract value ($18 million across 15 contracts) was awarded without a fresh competitive bid, per Checkbook NYC. Recent DYCD awards include "FY27 Beacon Program NAE" ($2,615,093, a negotiated contract) and "SYEP NAQ FY26" ($1,317,568, also a negotiated contract).
