T.Y. Lin International Engineering & Architecture PC is the New York professional-services entity of T.Y. Lin International, a global multidisciplinary engineering firm headquartered in San Francisco and founded on June 1, 1954, by structural engineer Tung-Yen Lin, credited with standardizing the practical use of prestressed concrete in bridge design. It provides transportation and construction-management services to the NYC Department of Transportation and Department of Design and Construction, including a $12 million contract for design and construction support services on FDR Drive northbound between East 42nd and East 49th Streets and a $10 million transportation-planning and engineering requirements contract, together part of $42 million in city contracts registered since 2015, of which 15% of contract value ($6.25 million, a single renewal of a construction-management requirements contract) was awarded without a fresh competitive bid.
