UNITED SIKHS is an international nonprofit headquartered in New York that describes itself as dedicated to humanitarian relief, education, civil and human rights, and community development for underserved and minority communities, grounded in the Sikh principles of seva (selfless service) and sarbat da bhala (welfare of all), per its own site. Its dominant New York City contract is a Department of Homeless Services agreement, "Provision of Integrated Commercial Hotels Program, 343 units" (about $69 million, awarded by RFP, a competitive bid); it also holds a smaller, non-competitively awarded (discretionary member-item) DSS contract for "Provision of immigration legal services" ($187,500). It previously ran an emergency (non-competitively awarded) DHS contract, "United Sikhs Services at FWC E Gun Hill X 2023" (about $8 million), and received emergency DEM funding for a "Food Access Program Distribution Operation for COVID-19" ($425,000) during the pandemic.
