Whitsons Food Service (Bronx) Corp is the Bronx-based production entity of Whitsons Culinary Group, a food-service management company founded in 1979 that runs school, healthcare, and community dining programs including a Bronx culinary center opened in 2002. In NYC, it has been awarded $297.7 million in city contracts since 2010 (all now expired), $234.0 million paid to date, primarily with the Department of Homeless Services for the Homeless Services Meal Program and adult meal catering, plus Sanitation, Social Services, and Youth and Community Development; 80% of that contract value ($238.6 million) was won via renewals or negotiated awards rather than a fresh competitive bid.
