Committee on Parks and Recreation meeting

The Parks and Recreation Committee held a hearing on six bills, most of them about street tree management. Members heard Int 0576, which would set rules and reporting for the removal of trees under the Parks Department, Int 0666, which would require the agency to publish tree maintenance prioritization ratings, and Int 0089, which would explain the use of tree pits on the city tree map. The committee also took testimony on two dog waste measures, Int 0880 on posting signs against leaving dog waste and Int 0864 to pilot collecting dog feces at dog runs for composting, plus Int 0859 on publishing the history behind past street and park name changes. No votes were taken.
