A joint oversight hearing with the Committees on Consumer and Worker Protection and Public Safety on the regulation, accountability, and safety of micromobility in the city. The committees also take up more than a dozen bills covering e-bikes, mopeds, and delivery work, including a ban on selling or renting class three e-bikes (Int 0244-2026), licensing for delivery services (Int 0950-2026), and requirements that food delivery apps verify moped registrations (Int 0389-2026) and carry liability insurance (Int 0994-2026). A resolution (Res 0044-2026) urges Albany to raise penalties for leaving the scene of an e-scooter crash.
