Catholic School Region Of Staten Island is an administrative region of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of New York's school system, covering Staten Island's Catholic elementary and high schools, some of which enroll students through the city's Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program. Per Checkbook NYC, it holds no active NYC contracts as of August 8, 2026, but has been awarded $89 million in city contracts with the Department of Education since 2013, all titled UPK or UPK-BTF; $73 million has been paid to date. 38% of contract value ($34 million across 14 contracts) was awarded without a fresh competitive bid, including two now-expired UPK contracts (both ending 2021, badged Renewal or Negotiated contract on Checkbook) worth $18.5 million combined, while its newer UPK-BTF contracts running through 2026 were awarded via RFP.
