Kissena Cherry Daycare is a Flushing, Queens child care center and preschool at 140-26 Cherry Avenue that, per its own site, serves toddlers, preschoolers, and 4-year-olds enrolled in New York City's Pre-K for All program using the Department of Education's monthly curriculum guide. All six of its registered city contracts are with the Department of Education for Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) services, worth $20 million since 2012 (the city has paid $18 million to date). Five were awarded through RFP; the sixth, a $2.8 million UPK contract that ran 2019 to 2021, was a renewal not re-bid, accounting for the 14% of contract value awarded without a fresh competitive bid. All of its DOE contracts have since expired.
