Reliant Transportation Inc
City-funded organization
Reliant Transportation Inc., a Bronx-based subsidiary of MV Transportation, was one of NYC's largest school bus contractors, running roughly 950 routes (about 10% of the DOE's bus network) largely for special-education students before the city acquired its operating assets in 2021 to form the public NYC School Bus Umbrella Services (NYCSBUS). It was awarded $520,895,217 in NYC Department of Education contracts since 2014 (all now expired), only 12% of that value won without a fresh bid, and paid $638,377,070 to date.
