Riso Incorporated, doing business as RISO, Inc., is the United States subsidiary of Japan's RISO Kagaku Corporation, selling digital duplicators and inkjet printers; the U.S. entity was established in January 1986 as RISO Kagaku's first overseas subsidiary and is headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts, according to the company's own website. Its sole active New York City contract is a $6.1 million Department of Education award titled "Digital Duplicators - Printing Services," won as a renewal rather than through a fresh competitive bid. Since 2008 the DOE has registered $19.9 million in contracts with the company across 5 awards for digital duplicating equipment, of which 58% of contract value ($11.6 million across 3 contracts) was awarded without a fresh competitive bid, including a separate, now expired $4 million "Digital Duplicating Equipment Leasing" renewal.
