Riverbay Corporation is the cooperative corporation that owns and operates Co-op City, a Mitchell-Lama housing cooperative in the Bronx spanning 35 high-rise buildings and seven townhouse clusters and home to roughly 50,000 residents, according to Co-op City's own site. Its NYC contract record on Checkbook NYC lists five registered contracts totaling about $30 million since 1991, of which about $28 million has been paid out. The largest by far is a Department of Education contract, "PROVIDING OF HOT WATER - EDUCATION PARK IN CO-OP CITY" (about $30 million, ended 2025), which Checkbook tags as awarded through a competitive sealed bid. Riverbay's other four contracts, all with the City Council for space at 135 Einstein Loop used as council member district offices, are tagged by Checkbook as negotiated, non-competitive real-property agreements; together those four total $64,443, which Checkbook counts as 0% of Riverbay's total contract value awarded without a fresh competitive bid. Riverbay currently holds one active $31,231,245 City Council contract as of August 2026 for that Einstein Loop office space.
