Willdan Energy Solutions is the energy efficiency arm of Willdan Group Inc (NASDAQ: WLDN), a publicly traded professional and technical consulting firm founded in 1964 and headquartered in Anaheim, California, that designs and implements energy efficiency, decarbonization, and grid programs for utilities and government agencies nationwide. In April 2026 Willdan announced a three-year, $27 million contract with the NYC Mayor's Office of Climate & Environmental Justice to redesign and implement the NYC Accelerator program, which helps building owners cut greenhouse gas emissions and comply with Local Law 97; Checkbook NYC registers this contract, awarded by RFP, under the Department of Environmental Protection. It also held two earlier, now-expired Department of Citywide Administrative Services contracts: a competitively bid (RFP) $1.3 million "Long Term Energy Project," and a $927,880 emergency, no-bid contract for COVID-19 air conditioner installations, the latter accounting for 3% of contract value awarded without a fresh competitive bid ($927,880 across one contract).
